Age of Empires 2 HD: Rise of the Rajas выйдет 19 декабря — спустя более чем 17 лет после релиза на ПК оригинальной второй части.
Действие Rise of the Rajas развернётся в Юго-Восточной Азии. Дополнение включает в себя четыре цивилизации (бирманскую, кхмерскую, малайскую и вьетнамскую); четыре полностью озвученные кампании; а также юнитов вроде боевого слона и имперского застрельщика. Помимо всего прочего, Hidden Path Entertainment и Ensemble Studios обещают принести в стратегию улучшенный искусственный интеллект; по пять новых особых, реальных и случайных карт; 13 типов рельефа и множество объектов для редактора сценариев.
Разработчики также обещают улучшить производительность и баланс в игре. Мультиплеерные матчи в Age of Empires 2 HD: Rise of the Rajas должны стать более стабильными. В частности, при возникновении разрывов во время сетевых боёв весь прогресс игрока, покинувшего матч не по своей вине, будет восстанавливаться.
