30 month of work, 52 tracks, 70 instruments used, 50 musicians involved in the project, and at the end of the day 3 hours of music packed in a beautiful digibook with a 76 colous pages booklet.
The Musicians Involved into the Project

THE VOICES

Maggie Reilly, the voice of Moonlight Shadow, Mike Oldfield’s hit, sings the first song of the triple album, Earliest Recollections, which evokes Charles Darwin’s childhood.

Elliott Murphy sings a song with “Beatles-like” arrangements : Silent Battle.

Gérard Lenorman gave all his emotion to a song about the death of Charles and Emma’s daughter : Annie.

Huong Thanh, amazing vietnamese singer - his voice is amazingly pure - co-wrote and performed three titles : Darwin Finches, Collection Eight, On the Origin of Species.

Pierre Emberger, singer of Freegh, composed the vocals and the chorus lines for : It’s Time to Write, Sombre Thoughts, Descent of Man, Charles Darwin Burial.

Ronnie Caryl, guitarist for Phil Collins, gives nostalgy and warmth to the song Down House, which evokes the house where Darwin used to live. He plays acoustic guitar, in duet with Philippe Claerhout, Straits of Magellan's chorus and sings Leaving England. In duet with Amy Keys, he also plays the part of Charles in a song written as a dialog between Darwin and his wife : Emma and Charles.

Amy Keys, chorus singer with Phil Collins, Herbie Hancock, Earth Wind and Fire, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Hallyday, sings Emma and Charles with her stage companion Ronnie Caryl.

Alistair Gordon, singer on Tony Banks’s Bankstatement album - keyboard player of Genesis - gives his energy to Beagle, Bound Together and So Many Years.

Jayney Klimek, who also worked with Tony Banks, wrote the lyrics for the last track of the second album, Missing Links, and performs it too.

BRASS AND WINDS

John A. Helliwell, Supertramp’s legendary saxophonist, recorded 11 titles for Charles Darwin. With all the mischievousness, delicacy and intelligence which are his signature, he gives an incomparable flavour to our music mixing the timbres of his tenor, alto and soprano saxophones and the soft and nostalgic voice of his clarinet : The Bump of Reverence, Collection 2 & 3, Tierra del Fuego, The Coral of Life, Down House, An Ordinary Day, Salting the Seeds, It’s Time to Write, Bound Together, On the Origin of Species, Mysterious Illness.

Raphaël Ravenscroft, saxophonist on Jerry Rafferty’s famous Baker Street, plays, since the eighties, with musicians and groups as famous as David Gilmour -Pink Floyd. Raphaël gives swing and energy to : Silent Battle, Homeward Bound, Collection 7, Collection 9, Descent with Modification, Sombre Thoughts, Vision of the Indian Mound.

Terry Oldfield, who plays the flute on many albums of his brother Mike and contributed to his celebrity, accepted to play the tune of The Copley Medal.

John Hackett, featured on many albums of his brother Steve Hackett, one of Genesis guitar players, plays the flute on L. U. C. A.

GUITARS

Tim Renwick plays the guitar on stage with Pink Floyd. He also worked with David Bowie, Al Stewart, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Procol Harum... He puts his mark on the song Earliest Recollections and plays Descent of Man’s chorus. He also arranged Leaving England’s final.

Francis Dunnery, It Bites' first guitarist and lead singer, Carlos Santana's or Robert Plant's guitar player, shows his virtuosity and his musicality in the The Bump of Reverence’s riff and chorus.

Robin Boult, guitar player for Fish, Marillion’s first singer, played acoustic guitar on Collection 5 and Physics and Hunting’s acoustic and electric chorus.

Ian Bairnson, guitarist for Alan Parsons, Kate Bush or Tom Jones..., plays a double chorus in Vision of the Indian Mound, on acoustic and electric guitar.

BASSES

David Paton, bass player with Kate Bush, Alan Parsons, Paul MacCartney, Chris Rea, Pilot..., adds his unique feeling and sound to Coral of Life.

Mickaël Manring, jazz bass player who learned with Jaco Pastorius, plays on Vision of the Indian Mound.

KEYBOARDS

Mickey Simmonds, keyboard player with Mike Oldfield, Camel, Fish or Paul Young, long time friend of ours - he played on our very first album - was kind enough to play and arrange 10 tracks : Collection 1, Silent Battle, Straits of Magellan, Tierra del Fuego, The Coral of Life, The Island of Devil’s Riding School, An ordinary Day, Bound Together, On the Origin of Sepecies, Slave Makers.

Ton Scherpenzeel, keyboard player with Camel or Kayak..., wrote and played the final chorus part of Mysterious Illness, playing on 48 different chords on which he created a melodical, lyrical and progressive synths chorus.
