This is the follow up to M.R.R.'s triple LP "Grounation"
released in a beautiful box with informative booklet on
Grounation Records in 1975. The sequel contains more of the
same traditional Rastafarian drumming, chanting and
hymn singing.

If you're looking for roots, you don't get any deeper than
this. It's hardly meant for those with a merely cursory
interest in reggae.

As probably known, it was the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari
who did the trumming on "Oh! Carolina", that monster hit of
1960 produced by Prince Buster and sung by the Folkes Bros.
The song struck again internationally - big time! - when
Shaggy did a new version in 1992.

There are some vestiges of reggae in this acoustic set:
uptempo drums chopping like a reggae rhythm guitar, but
that's about it. I think it is a significant record, and it
appears to be still available on some small CD label
aimed exclusively at the inner circle of believers. Imagine,
in the 70s this was (almost) commercial! I cannot think of
any other reason for putting such a record out, than that
you hope at least to get your invested money back. This
is now a rare item, and I guess it was only pressed in a
very limited edition.

Do grab this copy from yesterday, if only to fill in some
gaps in your file on the development of reggae. The record
is still in near mint condition and became mint after some
small crackle during the first few seconds was removed.

Tracks 9 & 10 contains an unbearably shrill and badly
equalized sax but creating a -3 dB dip at 4 kHz and another
depression in the frequency response around 5 kHz lessened
the metallic and tiresome sound quite a bit.

Complete scans of the gatefold sleeve enclosed (worked an
hour and a half to piece it together from partial scans),
so that you can meditate pon the Brothers' rasta reasoning.

Depending on who you are, you might either find it
illuminating, fascinating or amusing in an endearing way.
I particularly liked the discussion on worms!
