В Розовой Пантере есть нечто такое, что сделало это розовое создание одним из самых популярных мультипликационных персонажей. А началось все с фильма о розыске удивительного розового бриллианта, называемого Розовой Пантерой. В поисках способа передачи настроения фильма его режиссер Блэйк Эдвардс обратился к художественному гению Фрица Фреленга и его коллеги Дэвида де Пати. Именно командой де Пати-Фреленг был создан символ остроумия и беспечности — стройная и ловкая пантера, которая могла общаться с окружающими, не произнося ни слова. Для создания музыкального сопровождения Блэйк Эдвардс пригласил замечательного композитора и дирижера Генри Манчини, который написал, без сомнения, одну из самых узнаваемых музыкальных тем — музыку, которая звучит, когда Розовая Пантера неслышно подкрадывается к цели. Со времени своего первого появления на экране Розовую Пантеру сопровождал неизменный успех. Вскоре Розовая Пантера стал героем независимых короткометражных мультфильмов, первый из которых — «Думай Розовый» — был выдвинут на соискание премии Оскар. А два года спустя другой мультфильм — «Розовый план» — был удостоен этой престижной премии. Осенью 1982 года компания MGM/UA приобрела права на 176 короткометражных мультфильмов с Розовой Пантерой. И сегодня Розовая Пантера продолжает завоевывать сердца нового поколения зрителей.
