Israel Vibration, originally a trio but since the end of the nineties a duo consisting of Lascelle "Wiss" Bulgin and Cecil "Skelly" Spence, is one of the roots vocal groups that have influenced the face of roots reggae music in the second half of the seventies and throughout the eighties. During their more than two-and-a-half decades spanning career Israel Vibration have released many fine albums and singles and toured the world extensively. Wether they recorded in the studio or performed live on stage, Israel Vibration have always been backed by the Roots Radics band. From their debut set "The Same Song" upto and including this brand new album "Fighting Soldiers" Israel Vibration''s musical concept hasn''t gone through major changes. Each member writes his own songs, mainly roots & culture oriented but occasionally also dealing with matters of the heart. Then the songs are alternately presented on the album with the Roots Radics providing "live" played original riddims - mostly full sounding heavy roots backdrops - for the distinctive vocal of the lead singer. Although Israel Vibration is no longer on the cutting edge of reggae music, there has been little decline in the quality of their material as can be witnessed on their "Fighting Soldiers" album. Although not an essential release this set features strong songs such as "Unseen Bullet", "Level Every Angle", the ska-flavored "Jah Runnings", "Miscalculation", Men In High Places" and Peace Not War". With the other tracks being not far behind Israel Vibration delivers a fairly entertaining album which will surely find its way to their many fans.

add this one to the list of spectacular live reggae shows caught on cd. and you thought they were getting old. backed by the industry-standard roots radics band, izzy vibes delivers hit after hit; old favorites like the seat-of-your pants intro rockford rock, same song, vultures, red eyes, cool and calm, ball of fire, and why worry, and also a few newer tunes like get up and go, african unification, jah runnings, and some a holler some a bawl. and the crowd''s "we want more" reaction to every note they play makes you feel like youre right there; the energy is at maximum irieness. even people who dont care for reggae will dig this. i promise.
